What Is The New Testament-Patterned Church? - Part 1

HOW TO BE SAVED
1. Salvation is necessary because all people have sinned and deserve to end up in an
eternal Hell. (Romans 3:23)
2. God is good and gracious and has provided His Son Jesus as payment for our sin through His death on the
cross. (John 3:16)
3. God's grace must be accepted by our actions and obedience to His word. (James 2:24)
4. Faith is acknowledging that Jesus is God and died for me (John 8:24).
Repentence is changing my mind about sin (Acts 3:19). Confession is
public acknowledgement of my decision to serve Christ (Romans 10:9,10). Baptism is full
immersion in water in order to die and rise again like Jesus (Romans 6:3,4).
5. Baptism is not for infants or young children because they are
safe from sin (Matthew 18:2-4) and unable to recognize their need for Jesus at a young age (Mark 16:16)
6. Baptism is absolutely necessary to bring us into Christ and His
saving work on the cross. Sincere baptism is followed by forgiveness of sins and the in-dwelling gift of the Holy
Spirit (Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:38).
7. After being saved, Christians should continue to deny self (Mark 8:34), follow Jesus
Christ and remain faithful until death (Revelation 2:10; James 1:12). Christians who do not remain faithful risk
throwing away their home in heaven (Hebrews6:4-6)
